The 613: For the Religious Bookstore that has Everything
The 613 is not a book about Ottawa’s area code, or intended to be spoken of in the way Torontonians refer to “the 416” or “the 905.” Rather, it’s a 640 page (weighing one pound) art book in which Archie Rand transforms each and every one of the 613 mitzvahs, or Torah commandments, into its own breathtaking painting of surrealistic colours, a project that took five years to complete.
The Blue Rider Press hardcover title retails for $45 US/$58 CDN and is now shipping from Penguin Random House for a November 10th street date.
