YourMusicZone.com Album Listings No Longer Being Updated

We use it ourselves for getting song title info and remembering to stay on top of new releases. But today, the absence of new titles at YourMusicZone.com caused us a bit of angst, as customers came seeking the new Thousand Foot Krutch CD and the album by Brian Doerksen’s new band, The Shiyr Poets. We  had a hunch that a few releases were missing, as the monthly listings seemed to be shrinking over the summer.

However, other parts of the site, such as the news page, continue to have fresh stories; furthermore the news page regularly exceeds similar Christian music news pages in the U.S.

The new release thing is frustrating though, as we share it with customers at least once a day. The benefits include identical pricing between the site and our store and opportunities to hear 30-second excerpts from a few songs.

The two CDs mentioned above are also missing at YourChurchZone.com

a lot of new restructuring happening over there again. I lost my CD rep over a year ago with Cook and have found it harder and harder to stay on top of release dates and new artists with out the one on one help. I just called in two weeks ago and was informed my gift and book rep would no longer be able to help me either. I just feel this will have to directly hit sales long run though. Their B2B site is not helpful for finding new and upcoming releases in any grouping of product and other companies make it so easy. I find it so embarrassing when a customer comes in for a new CD and I dont even have it on order but I am equally as frustrated being way over here in BC and not getting new releases until the day after they released even when I preordered months in advance. orders still take 5-7 business days from cook for me and only 3-4 from stl or ingram. makes staying loyal to Canadian companies so hard, which I have always tried to do, when its faster, easier, and cheaper for me to get from the states

They are obviously being forced to reconsider their whole relationship with music. As you know, loyalty coupons and price point stickers now have to be applied by the retailer which is a really, really slow process. Then on our last order, we noticed the price point stickers are being printed in black-and-white only, and the loyalty coupons are now black-and-white, too.

yes just saw those changes on the last order. I first really noticed the drop in CD sales alst christmas. usually by the Christmas our CD section is bare with last minute gifts and stocking stuffers but that just didnt happen, and Christmas music sales were dreadful. I heard from alot of customers they just wanted to purchase the new hit off a CD instead of all the repeat classic christmas stuff that came on them. Big shift.
