Dollar Continuing to Lose Ground Against American Counterpart

The Canadian dollar was trading at noon today at .9216 US, getting very close to being in .91 territory by the end of the day. Bloomberg news reported: “The Canadian dollar weakened to the lowest level since 2009.”  The Montreal Gazette added, “the U.S. dollar has strengthened on speculation about how fast the U.S. Federal Reserve might reduce its massive bond buying program.”  The rate for buying U.S. dollars (before bank fees) is currently at 1.0851 CDN.
