You Might Want to Quietly Remove This Title

In July a respected three man panel with the Evangelical Alliance released a statement about their findings regarding British ‘evangelist’ Tony Anthony’s claims in his autobiography Taming the Tiger.

The book has sold 1.5 million copies, and a local paper in Britain quotes Anthony saying he had been looking for investors to raise 20 million pounds for a movie. If the Evangelical Alliance had not acted, that movie would have been made and even more people would have been duped.

Taming the Tiger was released in 2005. By 2008 concerns about the claims in the book began to surface online. It took until 2013, the resignation of some of his charity board members, and an unknown number of complaints to the publisher before

His charity, Avanti Ministries closed down a few weeks ago after the joint statement with the EA. People all over the world from all walks of life are encouraging the Avanti board to release the full Evangelical Alliance investigation. They so far have refused to do so on advice of their lawyers.

Anthony’s lies are so far over the top to beggar belief, yet as noted, millions of Christians around the world believed him. He has also been accused of stealing evangelistic material from a New Zealand Ministry which invited him to speak in 2006, and of plagiarism.
