Cover Imagination Lethargy

Baker Book Covers

The picture doesn’t fully show how totally similar these two look side-by-side on my new release shelf.  The coloring is so very identical, as is the title and author font. (We had to put something between them.) Both are Baker Book releases, one was April 5th, the other was May 29th. There are so many creative artists out there that would give their eye teeth for a chance to do graphic design for Baker, for a book by Larry Crabb or a book by R. T. Kendall. Instead of cranking out these things in-house, why not give some young aspiring Christian graphic artist a chance?

Seems time is so limited that the jobs that need doing are not really being done properly. If the trade publishers won’t do justice, perhaps that will lead even more folk to self-publish.
