Veggie Tales’ Phil Vischer Reflects on ICRS

I’ve developed a major addiction to Phil Vischer’s podcasts.  Phil is a naturally funny guy and his humor is far more sophisticated than your kids’ Veggie Tales videos would suggest. I’d like to see this thing syndicated to Christian radio stations that don’t have a decent morning show.

On episode #10, he — along with co-hosts pastor/author Skye Jethani and Christian Taylor — examines “The Incredible Shrinking Christian Trade Show;” and laments a new generation of parents that don’t visit Christian bookstores specifically, and the decline of the Christian subculture generally. Some of this hurts to hear, but it’s a wholly accurate analysis of the state of our industry.

Click this link, and then hit the play button on the audio feed. The whole show is 50-minutes long so kick back and enjoy this but you may not enjoy everything about it, since it’s a hard honest look at the state of Christian retail. If you can’t hear the whole show, the ICRS segment is the first 15 minutes. (And some at 32:00 – 36:15.)
